OK, EVERYBODY knows I HAVE to answer THIS one!

Yes, COM_Net works great with catalogs, works great on quick entry, has
excellent search and look up capabilities. We have been using it since
1999 heavily (a little earlier in beta for us). We have all our parts
catalogs posted in COM_Net, allowing our customers to order with
point-and-click in the catalog. It also has a VERY nice catalog with
pictures and such (we don't use that particular feature, doesn't fit our
business model).

Special strengths? Fast and easy to use, intuitive, creates little load
on your iSeries, and outstanding comment handling.
Weaknesses? All special order tweaking has to happen in end-of-order
user-exit processing. We do a LOT of that, and the customers aren't
informed until after the fact. But that's not been a significant issue for
us.

It supports credit card processing, but I can't speak to that as we don't
accept credit card orders - we are strictly B2B with open accounts.

Lexel has a good demo on their site, and if you want a totally different
demo, I'd be happy to run you through one on my system.

Last year, over 54% of our orders came through COM_Net. A lot of the rest
HAD to come via phone as the customers were calling in, not knowing what
they needed.

We are a fabricated steel component and furniture manufacturer in the
process of implementing COM and COM.Net2. We ship to well known
discount department and home improvement stores. We have the need to
take credit card purchases also, via the phone and the internet. Just
would like to know if anyone has been successful in using COM (modified,
user exit, third party) for credit card approved while on the phone with
a customer and able to charge the approved card at COM shipment time
only.

Also interested in anyone's experience with COM.Net2 from Lexel and your
success in implementing along with COM and credit card approval with
COM.Net2 shopping cart.

Thank you in advance.
