MAPICS and Sarbanes-Oxley

SEC released a statement last week which should give some relief to IT
departments if the auditors actually follow the spirit of the statement.

However I just talked to my auditor who said that without further guidance
he doesn't see much changing.

It's kind of like the fox in the hen house.  You can recommend that he stop
eating chickens.  The fox says 'but it is just a recommendation' and he
feels he can continue to do as he pleases.

Has any other MAPICS shops gotten any feedback?

I have less than 400 people in the whole company yet the auditors expect me
to have all the policies and procedures in place that a company the size of
Ford Motor Company would have.  He has one check list for all companies.
