You can specify a Pre-backup command and a Post-backup command to run, for the save, from option 5 "Change Backup Options" We call a CL for the Pre-backup command that ends any user jobs and then another Cl for the Post-backup processing. You can schedule your backup to run unattended at night by: Cas menu option 4 "backup/Recover/Reorganize" option 1 "Backup Files" option 1 "Schedule unattended backup" Select X by 'Submit a scheduled backup to run on specific days of the week' We save to disk. Then in the a.m, copy the backup to tape. This avoids any tape drive errors that may occur. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shawn Thobe" <ShawnT@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "MAPICS ERP System Discussion" <mapics-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, January 25, 2005 2:32 PM Subject: MAPICS Backup I know this has been discussed and actually I have posted on this topic before but I've finally had my fill of this process.
