Just out of curiosity, why the need to eliminate QSECOFR? I know companies aren't all the same size and shape, but for us it's a non-issue as AMAPICS & QSECOFR are basically the same person. Funny thing about AMAPICS being authorized to tasks, I wish I could mimic that 'transactional/batch server' concept for security purposes in the PC world! Other perspectives are welcome too (non-rant as Greg rightly put it), just curious.....james Greg Wenzloff <GWenzloff@xxxxxxxxxxx> Sent by: mapics-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx 01/13/2005 08:13 AM Please respond to MAPICS ERP System Discussion <mapics-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To "'MAPICS ERP System Discussion'" <mapics-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc Subject RE: MAPICS and QSECOFR Thanks Trudie, I revoked QSECOFR from all tasks except Cross Apps and will trim that down later. Do you have AMAPICS authorized to any tasks? This is because the PCM apply process can only be done as QSECOFR and the PCM apply does an install/tailor. -----Original Message----- From: Greg Wenzloff [mailto:GWenzloff@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, January 12, 2005 4:00 PM To: 'mapics-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: MAPICS and QSECOFR Hello list, We are working on MAPICS security tightening up who has access to various tasks. I have seen QSECOFR authorized to many tasks that seem unnecessary. I would like to revoke all tasks from QSECOFR but seem to remember that some tasks in Cross Apps could only be done by QSECOFR. Is there a list of tasks that QSECOFR needs access to? While I am typing this I might as well ask about AMAPICS being specifically authorized to tasks. Seems unnecessary. Any comment? Rants not useful.
