What is MAPICS view on the use of "inquiry only" users?  We could probably
eliminate several users who only inquire on data & not actually do any
updating.

   Weston,

   We have a significant number of "inquiry only" users (people that only
   look up where parts are, if material has been charged to an order, etc).

   We gave them IDs that run simple inquiry programs we wrote ourselves
that
   offer very similar data to the standard MAPICS inquiries.  That saved us
   over 20 userIDs, which translates into a LOT of money.  The only people
   that get "real" MAPICS IDs are people that do maintenance and/or entry.

   However, our GM fell out of his chair when he seen the quote.
   We = are using the registered user scheme.
   My question is, how do you all kee= p the amount of users down to
   a minimum so that amount of users is affor= dable?
