Hey Girly Girl! Hope you had a good holiday feast! I enjoyed all of the food and football! I am down in PR finishing up and install and I am glad that I am down here. It sounds like we are going to get a lot of snow tonight! Have you been traveling lately??? Did you hear that MAPICS is going to be in Orlando this time! I hope that you get to come down to this. I thought you would have been in Chicago being so close! Let me know if and when you are going to be traveling, I might be in that neck of the woods. Talk with you soon. Paper-Less uses Client Access to access the data on the AS400. Beginning with V5R1, there were some significant performance improvements. What version of Client Access are you running? It is also crucial that you be up-to-date with your Client Access Service Packs. We had a customer who recently improved their performance from minutes for a single transaction down to about 2 seconds. Their issue was that they were current with Service Packs on the Client/PC, but not on the AS400. You would also want to verify that your PCs meet the minimum requirements for running Powerbuilder and of course that your AS400 is capable of handling the workload. Have you done any comparisons by running the same steps in the Green Screen/RPG application and the Powerbuilder/Client application for timing? Hope this information is helpful. If you need more ideas, please don't hesitate to contact ISE through your support channel. Kim Gudmundson Quality Assurance Manager Information Systems Engineering, Inc. We run 8 clients on one server (but this is terminal Server 2000 (4 xeons 800Mhz) and not 2003) running on a pretty old AS400 (170). Performance is not fantastic but it will do. Memory can be an issue on windows 2003. Is you're terminal server only dedicated to plm&c or does it also host other applications. Check you're windows 2003 task manager at look at the performance. Memory usage per client etc. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Michael.Huber@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "MAPICS ERP System Discussion" <mapics-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, August 26, 2004 4:15 PM Subject: Re: PLMC & Terminal Servers > 18 total clients on the terminal server and the AS400 is an 825 P30 > > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- --- > Michael K.
