If you create from a backup tape, you do not need dedicated mode. I think it has to be a tape with AMAlib, AMFlib, and AMTlib. We do a save while active on Saturday night and use it to create test environments on a fairly regular basis. There is an option on the MAPICS CAS to create from tape now after you take the create environment option... (F15) I think, then tab down to the tape device and fill in. And with the latest PTFs, MAPICS handles all the journaling and everything. Pretty simple now. Extended Environment from Cross Apps will do, but like someone else mentioned you need dedicated mode to copy an environment. -Jimmy -----Original Message----- From: mapics-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mapics-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Pete Olshavsky Sent: Monday, October 04, 2004 7:34 AM To: mapics-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: create a new env. Morning all... I know we have gone thru this before. I am trying to create a new env from a copy. What data areas and files need to be reset for this new env to function?
