I have the same issue but with some additional items.
Before each MAPICS backup I manually

1. Kick and users off of system

2. Enter PMC and do a select and edit for Inv records based on certain
date and time. Then prepare transactions

3. Delete any abended jobs in CAS

Any help with automating this would be great

Nothing is bullet proof ...but the users are typically notified via
break messages that a backup
is about to begin............

any gotcha's with this technique? - if a user is in the middle
of an IM
transaction, possible problems with an IM batch with errors?
