It's a legacy thing.  It was the standard exit key for MAPICS for a very long 
time.  I was told once why they didn't use F7, but that was probably 20 years 
ago and I no longer remember.  I have long wished that they would just go 
through and change all the screens and be done with it, but if wishes were 
horses my daughter would be ecstatic. ;)

re: Personal Menus

I beg to differ on when they were introduced - they were included with DB from 
the beginning, they just didn't work very well.  I think the earliest version 
of them was intended to work with MAPICS II - although maybe only in the S/38 
and AS/400 versions of the product.  I never worked on the S/36, so I don't 
know what was available on that.
