Ron,

We have the same situation with having to run certain things together.
While MRP helps a lot in that manner, another option is to put something
("COREQ") in the Vendor# field (which isn't really useful for Mfg parts)
indicating there is a co-requirement. That shows up on the MRP Order
Review/Release screen for each item. That can indicate to the planner that
there is a co-requirement - they can then either refer to another document
or something to check. In our case, the planners just know what the
co-requirement is (experience, but they do have notes). You could also do
a minor customization on the AMM3C report to print that, or set up a quick
cross reference file.

This, of course, assumes that your co-requirements are consistent, like
ours are.

When I finally get all the planners over to Browser for MRP Order
Review/Release (sometime in R7), I'll be able to do this with Integrator.
That'll be a ton better!

Dear Everyone:

Does anyone have ideas about how to schedule demand for co-products? How do
we notify the scheduler that two (or more) jobs need to run together
because they are co-products?

Thanks in advance,
