"Thanks for all of your help. I misspoke before. When I used strsql then saved it to a source file using option 4 it saved more than just the sql statement. So when I ran it using runsqlstm it failed. How do you save just the sql statement. thanks" Just get in the source member and eliminate the SQL statements (as you normally do to any other source member when you want to delete lines) that you do not need and leave the one that you like. What happened was that the whole set of commands executed in the session were saved.
