Try using this for an edit word: 'xxx.xx%' where every 'x' is actually a space. You have to leave a space in the edit word for every digit in the numeric field. Since the field you mentioned has a length of 5 with 2 decimal positions, you have to have 5 blanks in the edit word. Query/400 will fill in the blanks with the actual digits in the field, automatically doing a decimal point alignment. In that case, the field with 10000 in it will show 100.00%. 05000 will show as 50.00%. I have a query that reports a % variance in one of the report columns. On the "Specify Report Column Formatting" page, the column settings are shown as: Field: PCCHANGE Column Spacing: 2 Column Heading: ISS VAR % Len: 5 Dec: 2 Therefore, the report shows various amounts such as: 100.00, 50.00, etc. How can I use the Edit Word function (F16 Edit) so the Report shows: 100.00%, 50.00%, etc. I tried reading the "Specifying Edit Word" section of the IBM Query/400 manual but I couldn't get a good understanding of how to implement this function. When I try, I get the Error message: "EDIT WORD DOES NOT MATCH FIELD LENGTH." I change the field length and the message still shows up. I look forward to your assistance.
