If you use the Mapics backup it shouldn't be a problem because Mapics takes care of the U Jobs. U-Jobs, which are active will go in an abend-restart mode. After the backup, when users start to work again the U-Jobs if needed will restart them selves automatically. Of course this can also be done manually. The pre and post backup can be used to clean up other jobs (Users are still logged in or disconnect or whatever) which otherwise can prevent the Mapics backup from running. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Barry Foxworthy" <bfoxworthy@xxxxxxxxxx> To: "MAPICS ERP System Discussion" <mapics-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, March 11, 2004 2:50 AM Subject: Unattached Jobs Good evening, Would anyone in the group care to comment on a process to start and stop the background u-jobs. I'm sure this is an age old issue. The process of starting, holding or stopping are issues with the daily and weekly save. Is it possible to schedule a job to hold or stop them prior to a save running and then release or re-start them? Has this been addressed with custom programming?
