These may be new programs or modifications to MAPICS programs. For example, I maybe using the Reference field on panel 000 of order entry and am requiring a field that has a MAPICS message for it. To be consistent with error messages (if a AMBxxxx message already exists), I want to use that message. Also, if I use my own message file, I have to write my own retrieval pgm. I don't want to add a message to MAPICS message files if I don't have to.
