Steve, I have customer that does not run a Mapics backup. They have the batches setup as re-use = Y and batch update = N (IM). Now they only have IM,Pur,PCC,PDM,PM&C, MRP. We create all of our batches, close them, and post them via a string of pgms. Seems to work quite well for them. They have been doing it this way for years. But they had a person on site that set all this up and monitored, and worked out all the bugs. (No longer works for them.) As a side note. R6.0 has been enhanced to schedule the backup. Just like any other job on the scheduler. I have another customer doing this..Ends all active jobs even if you are in maint. Still has checks for batches not at a finished status... Works well for them.. Although if you have DcConnect there is a bug in re-starting, and if you have it shutdown browser users it knocks everyone off even if you are in a test env. Mapics and IBM are working on both problems. Not sure if they have been resolved yet. Hope this helps Pete Olshavsky Ind Mapics Programmer/Systems Analyst sjones@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: Anyone NOT running MAPICS version of saving the libraries? If so how do you clear the batches from A/R, Inventory, etc? We would like to just issue a cl command to save the libraries instead of trying to use the one from cross-apps.
