Invoice header is MBF9REP and contains the invoice total amount that will
go to AR. Special charge history is MBF9CPP which contains detail of line
item special charges and amounts which would be contained in the invoice
total. Special charges might encompass more than freight - so you must
know the special charge codes defined for freight at your company.

Budget time - We are looking to do projects next year adding more barcode
labeling and scanning.

Does anyone have strong feelings about any particular brands?
We use Telxon hand held & forklift scanners and Zebra & Intermec printers
now.
The Zebra's are old and getting touchy.

CFO frowns on maintenance contracts so we need something that can
take a beating and keep on ticking.

We use two, 1 for mapics and 1 for Inhouse Files.

Thanks, that must be it! AMJOBD is currently set to *RQD. I'll set it to
*SYSRPYL and see what happens. (on the weekend - can't afford many more
back
fiascos :))

By the way, how many tapes do you other MAGSTAR users require for daily
back
up? I long for the day when we only used one!

Did not work. This hasn't been a good week for me. Sunday we did not get
a
back up because I did not initialize the second tape. Monday we did not
get
a full back up because the system was looking for a third tape! Again
last
night, no back up because second tape was not initialized (intentionally)
and the reply list entry did not work. Received the message:

Bryan,

I let the computer do the work.

The INZTAP is at the beginning of my CLP for the backup. When the second
tape is needed and the CPA 4278 message is issued, it is answered
automatically by an OS400's reply list entry. See WRKRPYLE.

Bryan,

Also, Donald wrote a CL program called with the "Pre" backup command
option
of the MAPICS backup and uses the CHGJOB command to change the INQMSGRPY
TO
*SYSRPYL for that job, so the AMJOBD is not permanently changed.

I'm trying to write a simple query to summarize all the freight charges
invoiced during a specific time interval.

I thought the field could be found in an AR history file. If it is I
couldn't find it. Next try was in one of the the myriad COM files. In
reviewing the file descriptions I didn't see one that looked like it would
contain a 'freight' field.

Any help in pointing me to the correct file/field would be greatly
appreciated.

TIA,
Jim
