I really like the Zebra printers hardware-wise. We have 27 of them. Only
had 2 or 3 service calls in the last four years for all 27 printers - and we
don't even clean the print heads! They are made to run 24 x 7 but we don't
run them like that maybe that is why we haven't had problems.
Configuration, support and documentation on the Zebras could be a lot better
though.

We have about 15 LXE scanners and 15 Symbol scanners. LXE support is
EXCELLENT, they are very patient and unassuming. SYMBOL support is just the
opposite. Symbol support is the pits.

Subject: Hand Held Scanners & Label Printers

Budget time - We are looking to do projects next year adding more barcode
labeling and scanning.

Does anyone have strong feelings about any particular brands?
We use Telxon hand held & forklift scanners and Zebra & Intermec printers
now.
The Zebra's are old and getting touchy.

CFO frowns on maintenance contracts so we need something that can
take a beating and keep on ticking.

Thanks,
