Hrishikesh, In 1995 we installed handheld and vehicle mounted terminals in our warehouse which display 8 lines X 40 Characters. They use 5250 emulation like the one you tested. We wrote all the programs to do functions like cycle count, order picking/shipping, stocking, receipts etc. We like our system. It works well and is easy to maintain and modify. Today many people would call this technology almost obsolete but we like it. Unless you order color screens, the current crop of handheld terminals do not impress me. Good luck with your project. Recently, we were given a demo by a barcode scanner company. The screen is 12 rows by 40 characters but it displays the 24x80 screen. We had to scroll to see the entire contents of this screen. Now we would like to have the Mapics transaction screen (for IP, IS, RP, PC etc.) to appear on this screen. Here, we intend to have a custom program that will come up on this screen. I would appreciate your inputs on this issue to help our design process. Regards, Hrishikesh Kotwal ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Want to visit Spain?
