Joan, Joan, Joan,

An avid user of IWP yet you suggest using Overlays and IPDS.
JacanaForms can take care of all that pre-printed stock and print to
plain paper on standard laser printers without requiring special IPDS
configurations. Design your forms in a Windows graphical environment,
no overlays to manage, send the multiple part copies to different
printers in the user departments. Interfaces to fax and email too.

Sheesh, I thought you knew better. <G>

Special pricing through June 30, reply privately for more info.

Regards,
-Greg

We have about five output queues (including PRT01) that do not have
printers attached. Absolutely everything goes to one of those queues,
then the end user moves the reports they need to print to the actual
printer queue when they are ready to print them. This allows us to also
use one printer for multiple forms in the Shipping area, etc. (Although
in my next life, we will have all laser printers with IPDS capability,
and I'll actually have time to learn to do overlays so we can get rid of
impact pre-printed forms!)

I've always thought the nickname for an AS/400 should be "the Forest
Slayer." One of our queues is named "TRASHCAN" - that's where all those
lovely little reports that tell you how many records you added, changed
or deleted goes - one page with numbers and no other detail - (almost)
absolutely worthless IMHO.

Our Shipping department and Tool Crib prints theirs and files them. Our
regular one (the one that generates right before backups, usually
between 1500 and 2000 pages) goes to a special output queue not attached
to a printer for reference. It gets periodically purged by a utility
that wipes out everything in the queue older than x number of days.

The only report I see any benefit from in that process is the AMI3E
Transaction Error Report.

The info in file INTRWU has no use to us. I have a job on the job
scheduler that does a CLRPFM of that file each night.

Inventory is updated immediately.. This is just the transaction
register, and customer should definitely run this every few months,
because this file get very very very large.

To the list,
Most of my customers forget to run the COM Inventory Transaction
Register.

After a while, this file gets quite large. Does anyone have an
automated

function for running this? Does anyone actually use it and is IM History
updated at this point or during the Shipment Process?

Thanks.
Eric
