Gentlepersons of this list -- For those who know me, you know I don't ask for help one-tenth as much as I've proffered. I've been out of the loop of MAPICS development for a little too long. And, I am starting a client project with XA6 "tomorrow." They've got a system with (this is what they've volunteered so far) 867K item masters and are at 76% disk utilization (don't, yet, have any info on overall machine capacity, etc.). Requirement is to change item numbers on somewhere between 20K and 40K of the item numbers as a result of a merger consolidation. I've got XA4 documentation -- they're at XA6. I've been "doing" MAPICS since S32/34 days -- been out of the loop for past 3 years though. Can ANYONE proffer documentation resources, ideas, thoughts, ideas, suggestions (I _have_ been reading archives -- which only validate my concerns!) -- esp., need CURRENT Mapics logic documentation -- client is either (1) totally out of it; (2) deliberately hiding information; (3) totally clueless; (4) you name it!?! ;*) I have yet to get them to even tell me the installed modules and they won't -yet- provide any access to the system (it's in IL, I 'm in CA). Would REALLY like to be able to walk in (9 hours or so from now) -the CA location- with at least SOME understanding of what's changed / where to look on the IL machine -- esp., since the changes of the past 2-3 years. Not to push the "sympathy button" on why I've gotten obsolete here, but (uh huh!), my father passed of cancer last August -- and it wasn't a quick passing. Thanks to any / all who can provide any kind of support / resources (I can't even find my XA v4 documentation CD)! Again, thanks in advance -- this is the first "work" I've been able to garner in nearly 18 months ... between the economy and family issues: it's really important that I get back into the real world, if you know what I'm trying to say here! =================== Jeffrey J Silden : Silden SOFTWARE Solutions!, Inc. 5922 Lubao Avenue : Woodland Hills CA 91367-5611 USA Voice - 818/887.6920 : Fax - 818/716.6488 - It's the silence between the notes that makes the music -- JJ Silden =================== Confidentiality Notice: This e-mail message, including any attachments, is for the sole use of the intended recipient(s) and may contain confidential and privileged information.
