Connie, Another perspective to offer: Essentials is GREAT! ! ! It's such a great opportunity to improve your processes, I doubt you've had this type of opportunity in the whole time you've been using MAPICS. Without a doubt, there have been some bumps in the road in terms of code quality, but that wouldn't stop me from going forward. And there's still a lot of function that need to be added to completely replace the green-screen. All of us are anxious for that to happen. Process design is the watchword for being happy with these new applications. You should not just try to mimick what your users have done in their green-screen past. In my experience implementing these systems, users who end up unhappy with them didn't do the right process design or the proper testing of the new process before going live. That testing must include verifying the business process and that the software works properly in that process. This is an expensive (time, effort) process, but essential to your satisfaction. Everyone has his own experience with these, so I'm not being critical, just giving you my feedback from my experiences. Good luck and let me know if you need help. Michael G. At release 6 of course. We see some features that would streamlines processes and we want to be in position to get new function as it develops. Any installation or operation comments would be appreciated.
