Ron, I, too, have no experience with R7. However, I am currently working with another independent consultant that used to work for a very large manufacturer of consumer products. He mentioned that before he left that company they had been trying to get R7 up (and running) in a test environment and had not been very successful. They had numerous IBMers working there to figure out why it would not work. If your company can afford this type of expense and your company wants/needs to be cutting edge, you should at least put it up for testing. The best solution may be to run production in R6 with plans to go to R7. That way your company could see some return on the money already spent on MAPICS. If they wait to see R7 up and running, they may be upset at the time it may take to implement. R6 will not be that difficult (compared to R7). I would also suggest attending this year's MAPICS Conference to get feedback from users that may not be on this list and from the MAPICS developer staff themselves. Eric A.
