Thanks Bonnie, seemed to do the trick.  On this particular printer
(HP2200), however, we need to do a manual form feed to spit out the
printout after configuring for PDT as described. Is that the case for
you?

Don't know the 'why' but for each session we do a print setup selecting
the
'Use PDT'  box
and select hplj4.pdt.  Then save the session.   This makes the print
screen
readable.

Let us know if you find a way to avoid this step.
