This is a multipart message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Greg, The MAPICS enhancement process works this way. When a customer requests a change to the software, a form is sent requesting they document the changes. This allows the customer to state their requirements, not our interpretation. When the enhancement request is received by MAPICS, we notify the customer that we have received the enhancement and will evaluate it. The enhancement is then evaluated by one of our senior support reps. If the requirement is something that has applicability to most customers, we will approve the request pending resources and the customer is notified. If the requirement is too specific to the individual customer's business need, we recommend the customer modify the program or contact their affiliate. Our programmer then sizes the approved requests. All enhancement requests are added to our database with the sizing estimate. This database keeps track of the customer making the original request and other customers requesting the same enhancement. Larger change requests are forwarded to our development/marketing area for consideration in a future release. Changes of a size that we may do in support are placed in a waiting resources status. Approximately every six months the support managers evaluate items in the database in the waiting resources status. Items with multiple requests get a somewhat higher priority in being placed on the voting list. We must balance our total hours on the voting list, because our primary focus must always be APAR corrections. After the customers vote on the list, we try to complete enhancements in the order of voting preference. Our goal however is to complete the entire voting list before the next voting period. MAPICS has revitalized it's enhancement process and over the past 1 1/2 years has delivered over 70 green screen enhancements. A description, of the enhancements, is in downloadable SH14371. Some of these enhancements have been a direct result of the input received from some of the people attached in this conversation stream. All of these enhancements are a direct request from MAPICS customers. Last June, a survey was taken and our customers prioritized the enhancements which would be most relevant to their business. Many are already complete and available, we have a target completion date of the end of December, for those remaining. In January, another survey ballot will be made available, so we can begin our next round of customer requested, value added enhancements. I invite you to review SH14371 to see what enhancements are ready for you today! Just log on to http:// www.support.mapics.com and download SH14371. Please also participate in our next survey in January. -- [ Content of type image/gif deleted ] _______________________________________________ This is the MAPICS ERP System Discussion (MAPICS-L) mailing list To post a message email: MAPICS-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/mapics-l or email: MAPICS-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/mapics-l. _______________________________________________ This is the MAPICS ERP System Discussion (MAPICS-L) mailing list To post a message email: MAPICS-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/mapics-l or email: MAPICS-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/mapics-l.
