Eric, I've seen this message too many times. We also have 5 years of invoices. The subset function is awful. It looks at every record in the file instead of using an index. It returns invoices with the oldest one first. Who wants a 5 year old invoice? What we want is the last 5 or 10. We have to roll 20 to 30 times to get to the recent ones. It is so bad that I go to Inquiry - orders - historical orders - then subset --- then display invoices ---- write down some invoice numbers --- return to the reprint invoice screens and bring up a specific invoice by number. Has anyone tried to use the F17=Subset function with Reprint. When I use it in Release 5.5 and 6, we get a blank screen with the message at the bottom with something like "Scroll forward to find additional records". My customer has over 375,000 records in the file (about 5 years) and the Invoice Date being subsetted has over 300 invoices. Thanks... Eric A.
