Lloyd,

We use both Features and Options and Mainstay's Configurator product at
our facility.  Mainstay's Configurator does the same thing as F&O, except
that it offers more "intelligence" in limiting what options are available.
 It also goes multiple levels down, if you want.  You can also be creative
with it on the orders that are produced.  I have found it to be an
excellent addition to our systems.  Features and Options works well, also,
but we have had to be careful with the 20 limit.

        Don't have a detailed recollection of setting up features and
options, I just remember it was a bear to deal with.    If you're
interested, my company sells a Mapics integrated Configurator that can
replace the feature / option approach to specifying products.  It's not as
complex or expensive as KBC and can interface back as far as Mapics/DB-3.
