Thanks, Dave. I remember that that was the roadblock I always hit when I looked into this problem. Since my "copious spare time" is booked solid until sometime next summer..... Sigh. -- Joan -----Original Message----- From: Shaw, Dave [mailto:dshaw@syratech.com] Sent: Tuesday, October 29, 2002 1:38 PM To: 'mapics-l@midrange.com' Subject: RE: Old Topic I'm Sure This message is in MIME format. As you can probably tell, I've never used that myself - I'm an old S/38 programmer, I've always rolled my own one way or another. What you could try is a CHGCMDDFT for those parameters on the SAVLIB command - I imagine that's what they're running underneath those menus. If that doesn't work, maybe the source for the programs they're running can be retrieved and modified - they're probably simple CL programs. Dave Shaw MAPICS-L Moderator Rauch Industries, Inc. Can anyone point me to how to do this? I'd like to try it to solve my skipped files problem - don't know if it would help Tom or not. Currently, I only do a MAPICS backup weekly and a library backup nightly ... however during my nightly backups some files are skipped because they are in use. This is an area I have been somewhat lax in and need to get better before I get stung. Any suggestions/hints are appreciated.
