I actually find it easier to create a test environment by restoring the
libraries from tape (manual refresh of the test environment), and you don't
need a dedicated system to do this.  The steps are simple and easy to
follow.  You can find the instructions from the Mapics 'No Wait Response
System' and type in "refresh test environment".

Actually we backup to tape.  Is there no way to restore the libraries from
tape?

Don't know how your backups are done, but if you backup to disk
you can delete the test AMFLIB, AMTLIB and then just restore
from the savefiles online without using any extra storage and
avoid the QTEMP issues. There may be some minor tweaks necessary
but it is less involved than going thru the whole MAPICS process.
