I have implemented EPDM with rev level control, the purpose was to keep track of the bom at each rev level, on the system and eliminate the paper work. We also implemented EPDM rtn version level control for the same purp [ose on routine maint. We have an ENG site separate from the MFG site, for the eng to develop the rev. level in and perform cost rolls , etc. We also used Work flow to direct traffic of 'events' that need to occur, from BOM change to RTN chg o NEW item, etc. thru release to MFG. This seems to work real well and has reduced the ENG to mfg time frame, as well as reduce errors in the data base, we use a lot of spl defined cards and templates to assign fields to users with default values. Hope this helps, I do offer a 3 day class on EPDM from A-Z and would be available to assist. Let me know if you are interested. There are some 'EPDM COSTING ' issues one needs to be aware of too.
