Not a Mapics issue, but we just and upgrade from 4.4 to 5.1. Pay attention to Client Access changes. Access via SNA is no longer supported. We had a remote site with PCs coming in thru a 5494 which could no longer connect. IP is the only thing supported by the new Client Access. We switched the remotes to BOSaNOVA and things worked fine.
