This is a multi-part message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] MAPICS Listers... After cutting a piece of pipe (raw material), the leftover length may be 10' and eventually you may have 4 pieces of 10' each (example). The on hand balance shows 40' and none gets ordered. Of course the next need is not for a 10' length, but a 30' length and only when someone pulls material do they find out it isn't long enough for the operation. The 10' lengths could be used for some operations, so is not scrap, and the lengths may vary so cannot assign a new part number. Any ideas on handling this situation? Thanks, Ann --
