Jim, Controlled warehouses are necessary for just any type of discrete allocation or lot control. Other than location control, the main benefit to a controlled warehouse is negative checking. To convert you need to dump and reload inventory to make the location system active. MAPICS has a document on how to do this. Be aware too that the discrete allocation system is not pretty (ie a lot of work!). Good luck! Konrad
