Konrad,

Well, to begin with, we have all HP laser printers - not an *IPDS printer in
the place. Therefore, being able to print bar codes, printer overlays, etc.
on what we already have will be quite a bit cheaper than replacing 8
printers with IBM Lasers that are *IPDS enabled.

If you've already got the IBM printers, then, no, there's no significant
advantage. I admit, I haven't played with *AFPDS format in about 3 years -
at that time, it didn't work (or I didn't have it set up correctly!).

Joan,

I must be missing something. Looking at the brochure
I don't see anything more than can be obtained just
changing the MAPICS print files from *IPDS to *AFPDS
and letting them print to a Laser printer with some
decent scalable fonts.

Regards,

Konrad
