Hi Peter, a.) We also record our inspection as a separate operation. b.) We use the COM pick lists. Each day a query of orders due is run, and orders are picked from this. The pick list is printed in our shipping department, who fills the orders. The counts are written on the pick list and returned to the shipping manager who enters these into the system and prints the packing list. We, like Joan, do not have separate warehouses... Hope this helps Barb -----Original Message----- From: Peter_Vidal@pall.com [mailto:Peter_Vidal@pall.com] Sent: Monday, January 28, 2002 11:46 AM To: mapics-l@midrange.com Subject: Paperless questions Hello group! I have two questions: a) How you record your inspection time on a given operation: on that same operation or on a separate operation? Please explain. b) How is the warehouse notified to pick parts? Are you using some equivalent of the pick list? Screen? We are in a pilot project to implement the product and you input will be highly appreciated.
