Perhaps you should take a look at ARCTOOLS (http://www.arctools.com). It is a utility that helps you purge and archive without programming and without locking files. It uses a proprietary RPG code generator, so it's not risky like SQL might be. It's being used by BPCS, JDE, JBA and MACPAC sites, among others. I don't want to get into too much of a soap box speech here, as some people might get upset if I do too much 'advertising' here... as you can see, I'm the author... Anyway, please let me know if you would like more information. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Go... FASTER! Without an upgrade! In the past I found it was nearly impossible to archive historical COM orders because the procedure was insanely slow. I need to archive and remove about 200,000 orders. From past experience this would take days of computer time. Am I up the creek without a paddle? Does anyone have a user written procedure to archive records from the 20 couple historical files? MAPICS seems incapable of doing this.
