Gail, Thanks! I've sent resumes, directly or through recruiters, to dozens of companies. I've had face-to-face interviews with 4 companies, all MAPICS shops, and have had very positive responses from all 4. My experience as a programmer, administrator, and manager in /400 shops helps, but it's that 19 years of MAPICS that's gotten me in the doors. I don't think MAPICS is about to take over the world, but in this little corner of it there's a lot more demand for someone with MAPICS than there is for people with only homebrew experience or some of the packages fallen on hard times (anyone seen any ads for MacPac or Prism people lately? Or, perhaps most sadly, BPCS?). There's lots of JD Edwards jobs out there, but from what I hear it's because World and OneWorld both need a lot of work to run in all but the simplest manufacturing operations. I don't know this first hand, of course, but my sources seem to.
