  • Subject: Customer view of Quotes in ATP calculations.

Those of you that use the Available to Promise Date function in MAPICS when keying in COM orders, do you use the Quote function as well?  Of those you that "Yes", could you please give me some feedback on an issue I'm reviewing?  If you use Quotes and ATP is there any reason why you would want the line items on Quotes to be included in the calculation?  I don't want to make this complicated (don't want to consider setting up percentages, etc.) - I just want to know if Quotes must be considered.  This is also a factor when considering the Capable to Promise function integrated with Thru-Put.  In my experience customers did not want to include Quotes in the mix as an "Order is not an Order" until it is was entered as such.  Thanks for your time and feedback on this important issue and I always enjoy hearing from our customers.
