Its been great to see such a lively discussion on what is obviously a key subject to many of you. Let me explain the MAPICS XA technology strategy. Firstly, we have no intention of dropping support for the dearly beloved green screens in the immediate future. We understand that many customers still like the simplicity and rapid data entry features that you have been using all these years. You will still have the option to use green screens in the current XA Release 6 as well as future releases of XA for existing function like inventory transaction entry, customer order entry etc. However, most MAPICS customers like the technology and ease of use of the newer Client Architecture applications. Products like EPDM, Browser and Procurement Management provide a much more flexible and customizable interface than the old green screens. Our strategic direction is therefore to move more function to this type of user interface. While we will support existing green screen function and make some enhancements, customers get significant benefits from using XA with a more modern technology and this is where our development investment will be focussed. In Release 7, available in September 2001, we launch our new java-based Power Architecture technology which is the latest evolution of the Client Architecture. Power Architecture provides the same ease-of-use client-server interface available with our existing products, but also gives the option for thin-client Internet Browser based access or wireless device access. If you want to find out more about Power Architecture, we will be hosting a Netconference on June 5th at 11.00am EST.
