Joan, One thing that I have learned is that you must 'submit' a job with the following commands in the backup post command: STRMAPICS SBMMRPPLN ENDMAPICS This job cannot be run under a dedicated system caused by the Mapics backup. I put it in the post command with a 2 minute delay simply so that it will kick off after the backup. Also, I end the interactive subsystem even before I run the backup so that nobody is on the system to interfere with either the backup getting dedicated mode or to conflict with the MRP Planning Run. I also kill the browser jobs. You alternatively could kill all mapics jobs, put an exclusive lock on sysctl, and update the 'dedicated data area' to make sure that no jobs can interfere with the MRP Planning Run. I think what I am saying is all correct. I'd like to see your solutions - this is also a problem at our location! Do you run it as a post command in the backup to make sure that you have a dedicated system? That seems to be the only way insure that you have a dedicated system if you are using browser. You can't just end the interactive subsystem. What issues have you run into that have kept the MRP Planning Run from completing successfully? Thanks in advance.
