You are right, the product is Microsoft Access.  Search the supportline
knowledge base:
http://as400service.rochester.ibm.com/supporthome.nsf/Document/10000051

and search for document number: 7871148

I went to the Microsoft website looking for "MS Abcess" and here is the
result I came up with on their search engine:

"Your search using  "All Words "  for  " Microsoft Abcess " returned 0
results."

I've seen the name MS Abcess used on this ML several times.  Is there really
a Microsoft program with that name or are the writers really referring to
the program, Microsoft Access, "The Microsoft Office Database Management
System?"
