MAPICS INTEGRATOR holds that 'option', you can extend the
XA data to include really anything.

But I was shortsighted in not mentioning that MAPICS BROWSER
supports attachments also. I think it would be ideal for notes,
scanned faxes, word docs, etc...

For example pull open customer orders, line items, right click
for display menu, select attachment and create!

I would rather have a native (MAPICS) app than
add on for better manageability. These two apps
are great, can't wait for the new as/400 so i can
run 'em! (he said hiding his mild sarcasm)

Sorry for the tardy response. I have been out of town for the company.

Where do you see an indication that there is a note, cross reference, dwgs,
etc?
Didn't PowerVision (Forest & Trees version - pre-Visual Basic) have that
capability?

(I guess you're telling me my affiliate is not keeping me up to date on
MAPICS enhancements?)

not at all, so to speak,

its a mapics product that sits on top of MAPICS Browser,
can manage external data for users of mapics.
add right click feature to an item to view info
such as notes, cross reference, costing, dwgs, etc.

check out mapics.com...... or even midrangesoftware.com for navigator.

I am getting an evaluation copy of Navigator from Midrange Software. Is
that the same?

Are there any "other" notes packages out there that integrate with MAPICS?

We have successfully used Lexel's MAGIC Notes in another company, but here
our buyers want to be able to see the note on the ITEM DETAIL and ITEM
BALANCE HISTORY - SALES screens.

Lexel's MAGIC Notes only piggybacks on the built in MAPICS "F15 - Notes"
function. If MAPICS doesn't provide an F15, no notes can be added or
displayed.

Any suggestions?
