Hi George Sagen: At one time during the Mapics DB days (and possibly the early XA period), there was a Cross Application Support manual titled, "File Layouts and Data Directory." It contained information about most of the files in Mapics and a description of the related fields used in these files. This is no longer being supported by Mapics. You can use the utility program, Product Development Manager (PDM), to view all the files and their related Text descriptions in the Mapics Libraries. The Command Line entry to reach this program is: STRPDM. In your work for "designing and writing reports and inquiries," I would suggest that you read the first part of the appcication's main manual looking for the names of the main Master Files and Work Files related to that application module. With this information, should have a "good start" in proceeding on with your projects. Therefore, it's really not necessary to have a listing of every Mapics file and field description. Instead, spend you time looking for those files that deal with the specific project you are working on. I'm sure others in the Mapic ML will have other suggestions for you.
