HOM for is manually entered into COM, but there is an export function available. The level of transaction per day is small for us, and as I said it is a good fit for us. ESIS has many services available. I know what you mean about sales not checking, but thats a departmental issue. The companies that send us EDI would never be allowed to 'directly' feed COM, for the depth of it all; however, manual entry is no big deal, its mostly date changes. Granted, it could be more sophisticated, but currently the demand and ROI just aren't there. It was totally non-integrated (at that time). It was just PC/web transactions - then you still had to key the information into COM, etc. Has it changed? Our problem was that no one would every sign on and look at it - so I would get messages, faxes, and phone calls (as IS Director) to tell them to sign on and do their thing. WE had a lot of turnover. HOM was good about tech support and online training. -----Original Message----- From: Leleux@shur-lok.com [mailto:Leleux@shur-lok.com] Sent: Wednesday, September 20, 2000 1:42 PM To: MAPICS-L@midrange.com Subject: Re: EC: Premenos/Harbinger/Peregrine vs. EXTOL We had EDI/400, then Premenos, then Harbinger, but dumped them all when I was exposed to HOM product from ESIS. We do our transactions via the web, not real setup, the build the transaction sets and interface with partners. Best thing I ever did, EDI is 100% handled by Sales Dept. NOT I.S.! Give 'em a look http://www.esisinc.com/ they were a perfect fit for us. We are looking to to install COM_NET for our distributors, between the two we should be set! +--- | This is the MAPICS Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MAPICS-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MAPICS-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MAPICS-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: dshaw@spartan.com +--- +--- | This is the MAPICS Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MAPICS-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MAPICS-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MAPICS-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: dshaw@spartan.com +---
