You can (though this can become very restrictive depending on your license
agreement) name your devices.
This in effect puts your device name (e.g. SECURITY1) in where the
QPADEVxxxx is normally.

Another way would be to use CAS AMZM38 option 5 and put a unique 3 character
code against each user. This also appears against the batch.

You can always (after the batch is closed - IMHIST - or even while it's
still open) trace the device name through the use of
DSPLOG (and prompt with F4)
Put in the time to search from and to, and date from and to
F10 for additional parameters and in the device name put QPADEVxxxx
The signon message identifier is CPF1124
This will give you who signed on, the time they signed on and if anyone else
that day used that virtual device name.

Subject: attaching the userid to inventory batches

I am trying to find a way to attach the user ID to inventory batches instead

of the job name (qpadev0008 for example) so that we know who entered the
batch. Has anyone else had a need to do this? What was your method?

Thanks
Chris
