No, get one with a 5400RPM HD, then buy a _good_ SSD. For example,
Intel's X25-M or OCZ's Vertex line.

Also, I do plan on getting 8GB of memory but I see they charge $600 to go
from 4GB to 8GB (ouch mama). I am assuming I could upgrade after the fact
for much less?

Not "much less". The 4GB sticks are still very expensive.
