A basic linux desktop distro install with a list of tools that a "normal" iSeries developer/admin can install and use.I would strongly suggest not even thinking of building a distribution - too much hassle, too little benefit. It is much better to just supply another software repository to an existing distribution (personally I use 9.04 as vmware player is supported) and then just tell people the few steps needed to add the software repository, and the "pull everything in"-package name.
