I have often wondered why a third party doesn't build a faster equivalent to
IBM Systems Director Navigator (and DCM, and, and, and...). I would be
willing to bet they could get bought out by IBM eventually. If I was more
in tune with IBM i admin duties I would attempt such an effort, but that is
not a mindset I hold.
They try to build interfaces that are desktop agnostic but it ends up
performing so slowly that people end up going back to the familiar
interfaces. Requiring Windows to even get a new IBM i up and running is
another on my pet peeve list - silly really that IBM can't address that.

Honestly, iNav isn't exactly a stellar performer either. Nor is WDSC
for that matter. (Granted, it's better than the web crap they put out,
but it's still not great.)
Why is it whenever IBM writes software that's not green-screen, it
always performs poorly??
Sorry for sounding negative, but this has bothered me for AGES now...
