Broadcom wireless chips for one. Dell uses broadcom wireless chips for their in house label ... and the only way to get those to work is to use ndiswrapper.

Many video cards cause problems also. ATI & NVidia both require you to jump through hoops to get their proprietary drivers to work. Ubuntu has addressed this pretty well, but Fedora certainly hasn't.
