Nah, for one thing, I don't have an rc, and for another, I have two OBSD machines, one x86, the other Sparc, side by side, same level of code (OBSD-current) and one connects while t'other don't.
I guess it's a 32 bit vs 64 bit issue. In this case I assume it's an issue of variable packing. E.g., the two compilers pack a structure like this struct x { char a; int b; } in a different way. What I'm not getting is why "strace" or "ltrace" won't work for you.
