I think this is what James and Scott were talking about a couple weeks ago (March 9, 2006). The tn5250.pc is the pkgconfig file that James was getting rid of with the new version. Did you get the latest x5250?
Actually, I still have a message from January 15, 2006 with the following from James:
I have also made an x5250 pre-release to go along with these changes to tn5250. This pre-release fixes problems with being unable to tn5250.pc (since we don't use it anymore) as well as fixing a whole slew of other problems. The pre-release is available at:
